COMPETITIVE EVENTS
are designed to motivate HOSA members to improve their knowledge and skills. HOSA provides a national competitive events program as a means of recognizing those students who are willing to pursue excellence by preparing for competition and having the determination to attend a conference and participate in a competitive event.

Each event is uniquely designed with specific rules and regulations. Before registering for one, read through the guidelines thoroughly and know what is expected of you.
In order to compete at the regional level, you must be a paid, active member and you must complete the registration form by the given deadline. If you are one of top 3 in the region [states], you are eligible to compete at the State Leadership Conference [International Leadership Conference].
PREPARE
In our region and state, competitions are highly selective, and members begin preparing well in advance. You (and your teammates) should review the list of resources in the guideline and start studying as soon as possible.
Additionally, each event has specified attire, which is stated in the guidelines. Some events allow members to wear scrubs or other dress that is acceptable for that profession. Unless otherwise stated, members competing should be in official HOSA uniform; specifications are outlined below.
